New: Send a parcel with a Helposti code smoothly from a self service point

We are the first in Finland to introduce a new self‑service way to send parcels with a Helposti code. A self‑service point lets you get your parcels on their way quickly when it suits your day and the service is especially convenient when sending items sold on second‑hand platforms because it is common to have several parcels to send at the same time.

A self‑service point makes sending easy from the moment you arrive. You print the parcel label directly from the device, attach it to your parcel and leave it in the designated drop‑off place in just a few minutes without waiting in line.

The service is especially convenient for sending items sold on second‑hand platforms, where several shipments often build up at once. A self‑service point helps you get your parcels on their way quickly at the time that works best for you, whether you have one parcel or several.

What can you send from a self‑service point?

A self‑service point works for almost all parcels with a Helposti code, with a few exceptions:

  • XL and XXL Plus sized parcels must still be sent via a staffed service point.

  • Shipments sent outside the EU must be sent via a staffed service point due to customs requirements.

How a self‑service point works

  • Find your Helposti code. You will find your Helposti code and the corresponding QR code in the OmaPosti app when you open the details of your parcel. Your parcel appears in OmaPosti as soon as we receive preliminary information about it. If you have sold an item on a second‑hand platform, you will receive the Helposti code directly from there (sometimes shown as a “shipping code” or “delivery code”). You will also receive the Helposti code by email.

  • Pack your parcel. Protect the item according to the instructions and write the Helposti code and your name on the parcel.

  • Scan or enter the code. Do this at the self‑service terminal. The device prints the parcel label for you.

  • Confirm the details. Check the information on the screen and add any requested details.

  • Attach the label and leave the parcel. Attach the parcel label and leave the parcel in the designated drop‑off place. Tracking updates once the parcel has been registered.

Where the self‑service points are located

The first self‑service points are already in use in Helsinki, at Helsinki 10 in Postitalo and at our Unioninkatu service point. During spring, we will expand the service quickly across Finland based on demand. In April, new self‑service points will open in several cities, including Helsinki, Tampere, Rauma, Naantali, Turku, Lahti, Paimio, Seinäjoki, Rovaniemi, Tornio, Espoo and Vantaa.

How to find self‑service points in our service point map

  • Open our service point map

  • Enter your address or city in the search field

  • Select the filter “Self‑service points for dropping off parcels”

  • You will see all available points and their latest drop‑off times

If there is no self‑service point near you

You can also send a parcel with a Helposti code from a parcel locker using the OmaPosti app. Parcel lockers are often located along everyday routes, and OmaPosti guides you through each step.

We want to make your everyday life easier

We care about the moments when small tasks matter. The new self‑service point helps your day flow more smoothly by saving time and letting you handle sending on your own terms. It keeps the process quick and simple, and is especially handy when you are sending second‑hand items and want to take care of everything at a time that suits you.

Try it the next time you have a parcel ready to go. You will see how easily it fits into your day.
