All the postage stamps for 2026 have now been released. Over the year, these small works of art have featured Finnish landscapes and traditions, friendship, flowers, shared moments of celebration and, most recently, Christmas in Moominvalley. Which stamp delighted or surprised you, or simply stayed with you? Vote for your favourite in the Most Beautiful Stamp of the Year competition.
A postage stamp may be small, but it can tell a big story. The year began with Yle’s centenary, friendship and floral greetings, spring brought Europe, Pride and seasonal greetings, and autumn featured Nordic birds, national landscapes, Finnish traditions and Christmas in Moominvalley. Which postage stamp from 2026 stayed with you?
Moomins round off the year on the Christmas stamps
The final postage stamps of the year take us to a wintry Moominvalley. For the first time, the Moomins appear on Finnish Christmas stamps.
The stamps were inspired by Tove Jansson’s short story The Fir Tree and the novel Moominland Midwinter. The stamps show Moomintroll and friends enjoying the snowy winter, marvelling at the splendour of a Christmas tree and discovering a tree covered in thick snow.
