In September and November, Posti will issue six new stamp publications with a total of 13 different stamp designs. The stamps will be issued in two batches on September 9 and November 4.
September's stamps feature two Nordic birds, six national landscapes, and two Finnish customs
The stamps released in September will feature two large Nordic birds: a crane and a swan. The stamps designed by Reetta Ranta and Riikka Haro reflect the spirit of the golden age of Finnish painting. The designers are inspired by Finnish nature, mythology and folklore. They want to convey cultural heritage to new audiences in an approachable manner. Nordic Birds will be a 10-stamp sheet containing two different domestic no-value indicator stamps.
The popular series of roll of stamps featuring national landscapes is progressing to its final fourth part. The series has now presented all 27 Finnish national landscapes. The new stamps designed by Stiina Hovi will feature the cultural landscapes of Rautavesi, the Pohja ironworks, the Heinävesi lake route, the Kvarken Archipelago, the Oulankajoki River, and Sund in Åland. National Landscapes IV will be issued as a 100-stamp roll that contains six different domestic no-value indicator stamp designs.
Last fall, Posti issued two stamps showcasing the national customs of Finns. Now, two new stamps will be issued with the same theme. The themes of the collage-like stamps designed by Miika Saksi include what is considered good manners when offered coffee and the market square celebrations associated with the competition wins of Finns. Finnish Customs II will be a 10-stamp sheet containing two different domestic no-value indicator stamps.
Christmas stamps to feature the Moomins
The Moomins have appeared on stamps many times. This year, the Moomins will be featured on Christmas stamps. The Moomins’ winter adventures bring warmth, quiet, and a very special Christmas atmosphere. The stamps are designed by Moomin Characters Oy Ltd.
The no-value indicator stamp for Christmas greetings Winter in Moominvalley will be issued as a 20-stamp sheet and the domestic non-value indicator stamp Waiting for Christmas will be issued as a 10-stamp sheet. The international no-value indicator stamp suitable for Christmas greetings Wondervalley will be issued as a 10-stamp sheet.
