On October 19, Posti will introduce the new Remote home storage service in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, which will make the storage of goods easier and free up space in homes. In the service, the goods will be collected directly from the customer’s home, stored in Posti’s warehouse and returned when needed.
The service will be available in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.
In the Remote home storage service, the customer will order a pickup via the app or web service and pack the goods to be stored, and Posti will take care of the rest.
The service will include packaging materials and the pickup, storage and return of the goods according to the customer's needs. The storage and delivery of the goods can be monitored digitally via the mobile application or web service.
"Many homes need more space, but transporting goods to the warehouse can feel difficult. Especially in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, many people don't have their own car, let alone a van for transporting larger goods. The Remote home storage service makes storing your goods as easy as possible. All the customer needs to do is order the service and pack the goods. We will deliver the packaging materials and take care of the pickup, storage and return of the goods," says KajKulp, who is responsible for Posti's strategy.
The service is suitable for many different life situations, such as moving, renovating or longer trips. It can also be used when seasonal items, hobby equipment or other less frequently used items take up space at home.
The Remote home storage service uses Posti’s existing transport and storage solutions and logistics expertise, which the company has offered to business customers for a long time. Now, these services are also available to consumers. Further information on the service: posti.fi/en/remote-home-storage.
