Posti makes sending parcels easier with a new self-service solution – The service is expanding rapidly to many locations

16.4.2026

Sending parcels will become even easier as Posti, the first in Finland, introduces a new kind of self-service solution for sending parcels with a Helposti code.

“Customers value self-service, and collecting parcels from parcel lockers is already the most popular way to receive a parcel. Now the same ease is being brought to sending parcels as well,” says Head of Service Point Development Anu Björn.

At the new self-service point, customers can print the parcel label themselves and drop the parcel into the drop box for transport in just a few minutes, without queuing. The screen guides the customer step by step, and printing the address label creates its own event for shipment tracking in the OmaPosti app. The progress of the parcel can be followed in the OmaPosti app.

More detailed instructions for sending parcels via the self-service point are available at www.posti.fi/en/sending-code.

We will open 14 new self service points in April

The pilot started in March 2026 at the Main Post Office shop in Postitalo, Helsinki 10. During 2026, the service will be introduced at several existing service points and at some of Posti’s parcel lockers.

The first self service points will open at the following locations:

  • 17.4. Prisma Rauma (Porintie 4, Rauma)

  • 17.4. Prisma Raahe (Mettalanväylä 1, Raahe)

  • 17.4. Prisma Pirkkala (Kenkätie 4, Pirkkala)

  • 17.4. Neste Naantali (Ripikatu 2, Naantali)

The locations of all new self service service points and the last drop-off times for parcels can be found at www.posti.fi/en/service-points-on-map.

The self service point can be placed as a standalone unit, for example in shopping centres, corridors or parking garages, or as part of another Posti service point. At some locations, the printer and drop-hatch function will be integrated directly into parcel lockers.

The new service responds to the rapidly growing trade in second-hand goods, which consumers conduct on various second-hand marketplaces. The second-hand market has grown strongly in recent years, and further growth is expected. Consumers are looking for ever more effortless ways to send parcels, and the new self-service solution is one way to meet these needs. We have previously introduced sending from a locker to make parcel sending smoother.
