Summer is full of life, and holidays are made for movement and spontaneity. You don’t want to be tied down by post or parcels. Here are our tips for a smoother, more flexible summer break!
1. Change your pickup location in OmaPosti
Dreaming of a trip to the summer cottage, but a parcel from a seasonal sale is on its way to your local Posti? If it has just started its journey, you can still redirect it to a parcel locker or Posti location near the cottage. Just go to OmaPosti and select “Change pickup point”.
2. Share pickup details with someone else
If your parcel is already waiting but you can’t pick it up yourself, someone else can do it for you. In OmaPosti, you can share the locker details or, if the parcel is at a Posti service point, the pickup code. For regular parcels, no power of attorney is needed – the code is enough.
3. Extend the pickup time
You can now buy extra storage time in OmaPosti also for parcels waiting in a parcel locker. This lets you delay your return home by up to 14 days. You can forget about the parcel for a while, guilt-free – and still pick it up in time.

4. Use digital post
Expecting an important letter, say, from your municipality or some authority? In OmaPosti settings, you can choose to receive digital post. You’ll get a notification on your phone when the letter arrives – and you can read it right away, even from the end of a dock.
5. Add a parallel address
Spending time at your summer cottage or second home? You can register that address as a parallel address. This makes it easier to have, for example, your newspapers delivered to the cottage. Contact the newspaper’s customer service to arrange the delivery.

6. Order mail forwarding
If you want more than just newspapers delivered to your summer home, you can order fixed-term mail forwarding. This means your mail will be temporarily redirected to another address. The minimum subscription period is 2 weeks.
