On this page, you will find instructions on how to send parcels abroad as a Posti contract customer. 

Check the requirements of the destination country 

  • Country-specific information - The maximum dimensions and weights allowed vary by country. See the destination country's information, import restrictions and document requirements. 

  • Customs clearance instructions - Read the customs clearance instructions on Posti’s consumer page. The customs practices in the destination country may also affect the delivery time.  

  • Content restrictions and dangerous goods - As a contract customer, you can send dangerous goods safely and in accordance with laws - see instructions before sending.

Sending

Send Posti Parcel Baltic parcels with SmartShip, OmaPosti Pro or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the necessary address cards. You can order regular pickup or a single pickup for your parcels or take the parcels to the nearest Posti service point.

Indications and codes

The item must have an address label approved by Posti. The address label can be made in OmaPosti Pro or SmartShip that also send the required electronic advance information about the shipment (EDI message). You may make and send the address label through your own system. You must check the suitability of the address labels printed through your own system from our experts before using them.

Delivery

Posti Parcel Baltic is delivered to parcel lockers and service points. Distributions in Estonia Mon-Sun. In Latvia and Lithuania, distributions Mon-Fri, except in the capital regions Mon-Sun. Connect the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian pick-up points to your online store using Posti's Location API. If the parcel size exceeds the maximum allowed size, 36 x 59 x 60 cm, the shipment must be accompanied by the Oversized additional service. For home deliveries, select the Home Delivery additional service. The shipment can be tracked on OmaPosti Pro or on our website using the item ID. The item will be stored for 7 days after attempted delivery or delivery for pick up. An unclaimed parcel will be returned to the sender.

Return

You can also link the customer return to Posti Parcel Baltic. The parcel can be dropped off at the parcel locker or service point. A pick-up can also be ordered from the local customer service if the parcel was originally delivered to a home address.

Send Parcel Connect parcels with OmaPosti Pro, SmartShip or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the necessary address cards. You can order regular pickup or a single pickup for your parcels or take the parcels to the nearest Posti service point.

Delivery

Parcels are delivered to a recipient's doorstep. Depending on the country, a recipient has the option to direct the parcel to the nearest pick-up point or to a neighbor, for example.​ If the delivery attempt fails, a notice of arrival will be left for the recipient, and the item can be picked up from a service point in the destination country. The storage period varies between 7–14 days. An unclaimed parcel will be returned to the sender.The shipment can be tracked on OmaPosti Pro or on our website using the item ID.

Return

You can also link the customer return to the Parcel Connect. When you deliver the customer a Parcel Connect Return return label, the customer can return the item. The parcel can be dropped off at a service point.

Send Priority parcels easily with SmartShip, OmaPosti Pro or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the required address labels and customs declarations. You can order regular pickup or a one-time pickup for your parcels or take the parcels to the nearest Posti service point.

The item must have an address label approved by Posti. The address label can be made in OmaPosti Pro or SmartShip that also send the required electronic advance information about the shipment (EDI message). You can also make and send the address label through your own system. You must check the suitability of the address labels printed through your own system from our experts before using them.No customs declaration is required for EU countries.Deliveries to destinations outside the EU that contain goods must be accompanied with attachments required by the customs declaration. When sending commercial goods deliveries outside the EU, a commercial or pro forma invoice and the CN23 customs declaration are required. You can check the required documents from the country-specific information. When sending outside the EU, make sure that you report the required information about the item for the purpose of customs clearance. This will ensure that the shipment will reach its destination. Without the required information, the item may be sent back to the sender without an attempt to deliver it to the recipient. The sender is always responsible for submitting the information.Make an export declaration on the Finnish Customs' website for the non-EU shipment when necessary (e.g. when the value of the shipment is more than 1000 e). The service can also be purchased from Posti or another operator.

Delivery

Priority parcels are delivered to the recipient’s address in most of the countries. In some countries, such as Sweden, Norway and Iceland, the shipment is delivered to the nearest pick-up point. The recipient will be notified of the arrival of the delivery.The shipment can be tracked on OmaPosti Pro or on our website using the item ID.

Return

To return the Priority parcel, you can deliver the recipient International Return address label (IRS). Your customer may return the item to the local service point. Customer returns are possible from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatian, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Send Express Business Day shipments with OmaPosti Pro, SmartShip or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the necessary address cards. Delivery

Express Business Day parcels and pallets are delivered to a recipient's address. Deliveries include at least one delivery attempt. The delivery time is not agreed in advance.

If the delivery attempt fails, a notice of arrival will be left for the recipient, and a parcel can be picked up from a service point in the destination country. Shipments to Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are not delivered to the service point. An unclaimed parcel will be returned to the sender after a 10-day storage period.

The shipment can be tracked on OmaPosti Pro or on our website using the item ID.

You can use a collection request for returning an item from another EU country to Finland. Order a pickup by contacting our customer service.

Returns To return a shipment from another EU country to Finland, you can use an import shipment (collection request). You can schedule the pickup by contacting our customer service via chat or by calling.

No customs declaration is required for EU countries.Deliveries to destinations outside the EU that contain goods must be accompanied with attachments required by the customs declaration. When sending commercial goods deliveries outside the EU, a commercial or pro forma invoice and the CN23 customs declaration are required. EMS DocPack is meant for mailing documents. For deliveries to destinations outside the EU and special regions outside the EU’s Excise Duty and Value-Added Taxation Area, the customs declaration form (CN 22) is used.When sending outside the EU, make sure that you report the required information about the item for the purpose of customs clearance. This will ensure that the shipment will reach its destination. Without the required information, the item may be sent back to the sender without an attempt to deliver it to the recipient. The sender is always responsible for submitting the information.

Delivery

EMS express parcels are delivered to the recipient’s home and handed over against signature. If the delivery attempt fails, a notice of arrival will be left for the recipient, and the item can be picked up from a service point in the destination country. The service includes at least one delivery attempt. If the item is not picked up by the end of the storage period, it will be returned. The storage period varies between countries.The shipment can be tracked on OmaPosti Pro or on our website using the item ID.

Send PickUp Parcels easily with OmaPosti Pro, SmartShip, or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the required address labels. You can order regular pickup or a one-time pickup for your parcels or take the parcels to a service point. If your parcel weighs more than 20 kg, select the Home Parcel service.

Indications and codes

The item must have an address label approved by Posti. You can make an address label with OmaPosti Pro or SmartShip’s label printing program, which also send the required electronic advance information about the item (EDI message). You can also make and send the address label through your own system. You must check the suitability of the address labels printed through your own system from our experts before using them.

Delivery

PickUp Parcels are delivered to pickup points and parcel lockers. Parcel lockers are mainly located outside. Add pickup points in Sweden and Denmark to your online store with Posti’s Location API. The consumer will receive an electronic notice of arrival for the item. In Sweden, parcels are delivered from Monday to Friday and in Denmark, from Monday to Saturday. The item will be stored for 7 days after the delivery for pickup. The consumer also has the option to extend the storage period to 14 days. Uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender. The item can be easily tracked in OmaPosti Pro or on our website with the item ID.

Return

You can also link a customer return to the PickUp Parcel. When you deliver the recipient a Customer Return label, the recipient can return the item. The parcel can be returned via a service point or parcel locker.

Delivery

Home Parcels are delivered to a consumer’s address. The consumer also has the option to direct the parcel to a pickup point while it is still on the way when the length of the parcel is max. 150 cm and weight up to 20 kg. The consumer receives advance information about the delivery via email or sms. Parcels are delivered from Monday to Friday. In Sweden, parcels are delivered to the door without the recipient’s signature and, in Denmark, against the recipient’s signature. In Denmark, the consumer can separately agree on the parcel being left at the door without the signature. The recipient is notified when the delivery has taken place. The service includes one delivery attempt. If delivery is not possible, the parcel will be delivered to a pickup point instead. If the parcel weighs over 20 kg, the consumer can order a new home delivery for the item.The item can be easily tracked in OmaPosti Pro or on our website with the item ID.

Return

You can also link a customer return to the Home Parcel. When you deliver the recipient a Customer Return label, the recipient can return the item. The parcel can be returned via a service point.If the Home Parcel dimensions exceed 20 kg and/or 60 x 60 x 150 cm, pickup must be arranged for the return. For the pickup, the Customer Return must be supplemented with the Oversized additional service, which allows for pickup from the consumer.

Send Home Pallet shipments easily with SmartShip, OmaPosti Pro or directly from your online store. With OmaPosti Pro and SmartShip, you can also print the required address labels. You can order a regular pickup or a one-time pickup for your pallets.

Delivery

Home Pallet shipments are delivered to the consumer’s address (curbside), not inside or upstairs. With the Delivery to Specific Location additional service, the shipment is delivered inside. The recipient can choose a delivery time and track the arriving delivery in real time. Pallets are delivered from Monday to Friday and, in the largest cities, also in the evenings. Pallets are delivered without the recipient’s signature. The service includes one delivery attempt.The shipment can be easily tracked in OmaPosti Pro or on our website with the item ID.

Return

Home Pallet shipments can be returned, and pickup must be arranged for the return. When you deliver the recipient a separate Customer Return Pallet label, the recipient can return the shipment. Printing a return label automatically generates a pickup order, after which the scheduled pickup time is agreed with the consumer.


Customer Return

Customer Return can be linked to PickUp and Home Parcels. Returns are available from Sweden and Denmark to Finland. Return: The parcel can be returned via a service point. In Denmark, the return can also be left at the same parcel locker from which the item was originally picked up. Customer return label: You can print the customer return label from OmaPosti Pro or from the SmartShip system.

The return of an Oversized parcel

If the Home Parcel dimensions exceed 20 kg and/or 150 x 60 x 60 cm, it cannot be returned to a service point; instead, pickup must be arranged for the return. For the pickup, the Customer Return must be supplemented with the Oversized additional service, which allows for pickup from the consumer. Sweden: The return of an Oversized parcel must be agreed separately, and the return address label must not be printed in advance inside the outgoing parcel. Printing a return label automatically generates a pickup order, after which the scheduled pickup time is agreed with the consumer. Denmark: The consumer orders pickup for the return via Bring DK’s customer service. The return address label may be ready inside the outgoing parcel.

Customer Return Pallet

Home Pallet shipments can be returned from Sweden to Finland with Customer Return Pallet. Return: Pickup has to be arranged for the return. The shipment has to be taken outside (curbside), as it will not be picked up from inside. The return address label: The return must be agreed separately, and the return address label must not be printed in advance inside the outgoing pallet. Printing a return label automatically generates a pickup order, after which the scheduled pickup time is agreed with the consumer. You can print the customer return label from OmaPosti Pro or from the SmartShip system.

Parcel Connect Return

For the Parcel Connect service, you can make a separate agreement on the customer return that works from the 14 available countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. You can print out a customer return label from the OmaPosti Pro or SmartShip system and attach it to an item to be sent to the customer. You can also send it to the recipient afterwards.

The recipient can return the item through a pickup point.

Posti Parcel Baltic Return

For the Posti Parcel Baltic, you can also make a separate agreement on the return service. You can print out the Posti Parcel Baltic return label from the OmaPosti Pro or SmartShip system and attach it to an item to be sent to the customer. You can also send the return card to the recipient afterwards.

The parcel is left at a parcel locker or service point. A pick-up can also be ordered from the local customer service if the parcel was originally delivered to a home address.

International Return (IRS)

You can add the International Return (IRS) to a Priority parcel. Returns are possible from 26 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatian, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Print the International Return address label from OmaPosti Pro. Deliver the return address label to the customer with the parcel either in already printed format or electronically for printing. This allows your customer to return the item to the local service point.
