As of June 1, letters, cards, newspapers and magazines, advertisements and small parcels that fit in the mailbox will be delivered in the Sipoo archipelago three times a week; on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
From the beginning of June, Posti’s deliveries will be handled by a new operator. Mail will be delivered three days a week to all the dock areas of the islands, including those which the larger ferry that handled the deliveries in May was not able to reach. Residents do not need to move their mailboxes or make any other changes to receive mail.
“We would like to thank the residents of the archipelago for their feedback and comments on organizing postal deliveries in the archipelago of Sipoo. Mail can now be delivered in the archipelago more than once a week, and the archipelago will have the same three-day delivery frequency as the mainland,” says Petteri Vankka, Head of Area at Posti.
The delivery route covers Simsalö, Norrkullalandet, Björkholmen, Opanholmen, Stora Svedjeholmen, Sandholmen, Röysö, Bergarholmen, Skutholmen, Komsalö and Söderkullalandet.
Posti's mailboxes will be emptied in connection with the mail delivery. You can leave prepaid, outgoing mail in them. Posti's mailboxes are located in Komsalö, Simsalö, Söderkullalandet and Norrkullalandet.
“We are very sorry for the previous problems in the deliveries to the Sipoo archipelago and for the fact that it took us several weeks to find a solution. We fully understand that this change may have caused inconvenience to residents. We hope that this new three-day delivery frequency will meet our customers’ needs. We will contact the residents soon with a bulletin which will have more information about the practical arrangements,” says Petteri Vankka.
