Christmas card made with love

  • Delighting

Home-made Christmas cards are delightful to give and receive. Bring joy to your loved ones with cards decorated with a snowman, a Eurasian bullfinch and a spruce forest. By varying the materials and color combinations, you’ll get a fresh look for your cards. Check out our simple ideas and unleash your creativity.

1. Playful snowman

Cut a round head, a nose and a top hat for the snowman out of different-colored cardstock. Glue the pieces onto the bottom of your card so that part of the shape extends over the bottom and side edges of the card. Cut off the excess. Finish by glueing or drawing a black eye for the snowman.

2. Elegant Christmas greeting

Cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than your card. Glue a piece of satin ribbon in the center of the patterned paper. Decorate the satin ribbon with snowflake- or star stickers. Finally, glue the patterned paper onto your card and add your holiday greetings.

3. A little bird out of sheet music

Draw a circle on the sheet music for the bird’s body and beak. Color the bird’s breast red. Cut the shape out of the sheet music and glue it onto the card. Use a marker to draw an eye, a tail and feet for the bird. Finish with holiday greetings.

4. Spruce forest within a spruce

Cut six small pointed triangles of the same size out of cardstock. Arrange the triangles on the card so that they form a larger spruce. Glue the triangles onto the card and decorate the tree tops with pearl stickers.

5. Beautiful spruce twig print

Dip a spruce twig lightly in craft paint. Then, press the twig onto a piece of cardstock to make a print. Cut the print out of the cardstock and glue it onto a separate card.

Mail home-made cards in an envelope

Mail handmade, foldable and irregularly shaped cards in an envelope. You can also enclose cards decorated with a ribbon, decorative studs or glitter in an envelope. If you are mailing cards with pearls or other hard decorations, use an envelope with bubble wrap or a cardboard envelope. The cost for mailing a card weighing less than 50 g is the same whether you use an envelope or not.

Other ways to remember loved ones

A card full of surprises

Create real, physical Christmas cards of the treasures of your photo archive and let Posti take care of the mailing for you. The card with the postage fee paid will be delivered directly to the recipient’s mailbox. The recipient’s joy will be multiplied if you include in the card a promise of a movie night or, say, a flea market tour together. Order and send postcards of your own pictures by 12 noon on December 18, 2022.

A meaningful gift

A sheet of stamps is an excellent gift – particularly if the stamps feature a photo that is dear to the recipient. Delight grandparents by wrapping up a sheetful of their grandchild’s smile and a friend with stamps on which their beloved pet is posing. Order stamps of your own pictures by December 5, 2022.

A letterful of Christmas spirit

Bring joy to your family and friends with a Christmas letter. In the letter, you can share your news from the past year and tell the recipient what you like about them, for example. The recipient is guaranteed to smile when the letter arrives.
