There will be changes to parcel service prices for companies starting next year. On January 1, 2023, we will start applying a ferry surcharge to parcels delivered to Åland. At the same time, we will simplify our surcharge for correcting item details or packaging.
Ferry surcharge to items delivered to Åland
Starting on January 1,2023, we will start applying a ferry surcharge to parcels delivered to Åland. The surcharge applies to corporate customers who have a contract with Posti and send parcels to Åland.
The ferry surcharge is 5.50€ per item, also for multi-package shipment per shipment.
The ferry surcharge is based on the cost level for Åland deliveries. Many logistics companies are already applying a ferry surcharge and starting next year we will start using one in Posti, as well.
Simplifying the surcharge for corrective work
We apply a surcharge for correcting item details or packaging. In the past, the surcharge has been based on an hourly fee, and now we are simplifying it.
Going forward, the surcharge for corrective work is 8.50€ per item.
Below, you can find examples of situations where we apply the surcharge:
Address label is not machine-readable (e.g., wrinkled, placed incorrectly, or poor print quality)
Fixing, completing, or finding out item details (e.g., tracking code is incorrect or incomplete)
Fixing incomplete or entirely missing packaging
Changing an incorrect product type (e.g., item is larger than allowed in the terms and conditions)
