Customs security information requirements have changed on March 15, 2021 in the EU. At the same time, digital information on parcels are required and parcels from outside the EU have been transferred to a new automation line for inspection. However, as some of the parcels have arrived to Finland without digital information, there has been delays in the process. We have now increased the resources for manual processing, and the situation is returning to normal. The delays have affected about 1-2% of the international parcel flow and during this week, the delayed parcels will be processed.
Whenever ordering from webshops, it is advised to use a correct email address or provide a mobile phone number. We have digitized arrival notifications, and an increasing proportion of shipments arrivals can be notified electronically, which speeds up the possibility of pick-up by 1-2 days. The OmaPosti app is a secure way to track the shipment.
In addition, an error has been detected in the arrival inquiry of Posti's and Finnish Customs' Import Declaration Service. As a result, in a small number of shipments, it is not possible to enter Posti's code in the import declaration. We are investigating the cause of the disruption, and apologize for any inconvenience. Customer service is unfortunately unable to help, so customers are being asked to wait a moment.
