The circular economy is no longer just talk – it is concrete actions that combines sustainability and business efficiency. The circular economy service provided by Posti helps Nanso extend the life cycle of products and reduce waste, while opening up new business opportunities.

Nanso – a pioneer in timeless design and sustainability
Founded in 1921, Nanso Group is a Finnish brand house whose iconic brands, Nanso and Vogue, are among the best-known and most valued in Finland. The company’s philosophy is based on timeless design and durable materials – values that are reflected in both the quality of its products and its sustainable business.
"We believe that well-being and a beautiful everyday life come from high-quality and carefully made products. Our customers value comfort and durability, and we want to offer them better options," says Jenni Homer, Director of Retail at Nanso.
From a pilot project to continuous cooperation
Posti contacted Nanso in connection with the development of its circular economy services. The original cooperation began with a pilot project focusing on the efficient processing of returned products that require refurbishment. The result of this pilot was an operating model that is now established as part of Nanso’s common practice.
"In fact, Posti turned to us to develop its circular economy services. Together, we started a pilot project that has since resulted in a continuous operating model and cooperation. We used to work with a service provider that offered similar repair services, but this meant sending products from one place to another and created tracking challenges," says Homer.
Posti was already Nanso’s warehousing partner, so it was natural to relocate the refurbishment and repair of products under the same roof.
Posti is already a partner in the warehousing of our products, so it was natural to move the repair of the products under the same roof. Logistics challenges were reduced and product tracking improved.

Posti’s circular economy service – an efficient solution
Second-hand clothes go through a thorough process at Posti's logistics center in Pennala before they are returned for sale:
Condition inspection and sorting:
Each product is assessed and the necessary actions are specified.
Maintenance and refurbishment:
The clothes are washed, repaired and finished by Posti’s professionals.
Preparation for sale:
The products are divided into two categories - New life products get a hang tag with information about the refurbishment measures carried out and "as good as new" products are sold with the original tags.
Logistics:
When the products are ready, they are added to the warehouse balances and Posti takes care of their delivery to direct customers or Nanso's stores.
New opportunities and added value for customers
Posti’s service not only supports Nanso’s sustainability goals, but also offers concrete business benefits.
"Previously, many of these products would have had to be sold at a significant discount or even removed from the assortment. Now we can offer our customers a new kind of shopping option – high-quality and carefully refurbished clothes that last for a long time," says Homer.
For consumers, this means making more sustainable choices without compromising on quality. One of the main reasons why people are hesitant about buying second-hand clothes is hygiene – and this is exactly what Posti’s process provides a solution to.
Continuously developing cooperation
Posti and Nanso continuously develop the process and share best practices.
Our cooperation is very effective and fosters joint development.
Jenni Homer, Director of Retail at Nanso
Posti’s solution has made the circular economy a profitable business for Nanso, where minimizing waste and creating new sales opportunities go hand in hand. This is an example of how sustainability and business efficiency can support each other.
Let’s make the circular economy a reality – together.
