The political demonstration of SAK and poor weather have caused some delays in postal services (Updated at 18:30)

Here you will find current information of Posti's deliveries and services. The political demonstration of SAK (Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Union) on February 2 and poor weather have caused some delays in postal services.

The SAK's demonstration organized has not affectedo n deliveries related to the health and safety of customers, such as blood deliveries, laboratory samples, grocery deliveries, meal deliveries and care services. They will be organized as usual.

Early-morning delivery of newspapers

The early-morning delivery of newspapers has been organized as usual in other areas of Finland, but the poor weather conditions have caused delays in Helsinki and Uusimaa region.

Posti agreed upon exceptional arrangements with publishers.

Helsingin Sanomat is available digitally free of charge. If your newspaper could not be delivered, you can pick it up from four pickup points (login in at hs.fi).

Keski-Uusimaa is available digitally free of charge. If your newspaper could not be delivered, please contact Posti's early-morning delivery customer service, phone number: 0200 30011.

Mail delivery

The delivery of day mail has been organized as usual in most parts of the country.

According to the current estimate, the delay caused by SAK's demonstration and poor weather conditions will be 1-3 days in:

The delays concern the delivery of domestic letters, magazines, direct marketing items, and the delivery of newspapers delivered with day mail.

The peak can be handled only after the weekend.

Also, delays in other parts of the country are possible if the poor weather slows down the deliveries and transportations between different parts of the country.

The work stoppage shuts down all Finnish ports of exportation. According to the current estimate, the delay for international postal items would be 1-3 days. The delay also concerns international items transported by air.

Parcels

Online shopping's and other parcels are delivered as usual in Finland. On sparsely populated area there might be delays of parcels delivered with day mail.

Posti's Parcel Points and Smartpost points are in use as usual.

The work stoppage shuts down all Finnish ports of exportation. According to the current estimate, the delay for international parcel items would be 1-3 days. According to the current estimate the delay does not concern international items transported by air.

Posti's online and mobile services works as usual. For example, you can use them to track your item.

All Posti's own shops and all other outlets are open.

Letter boxes and post office boxes are organized as usual. According to the current estimate, there might be exceptions in the capital area.

Meal deliveries, for example to homes, day care centers and schools, has been organized as usual.

Deliveries of food, for example to grocery stores, has been organized as usual.

Freight

Posti's Domestic Freight Services has been organized as usual.

The work stoppage shuts down all Finnish ports of exportation. It might have effect on the freight deliveries coming from/going to abroad.
