Moving Protection and Light Moving Protection – choose the option that suits you best

With Moving Protection, you can make sure that no one can submit a notification of change of address on your behalf, such as in a situation where your personal information has ended up in the wrong hands. The most important thing to do is request protection immediately if you are worried that your information may have been stolen.

Light Moving Protection prevents anyone from submitting a notification of change of address on your behalf using a paper form but allows submitting one electronically. Light Moving Protection is a good idea when your personal information has been stolen. Submitting an electronic notification of change of address always requires logging in and carrying out strong identification using online banking credentials, which means that an electronic notification cannot be submitted using only stolen personal information.

Moving Protection prevents anyone from submitting a notification of change of address on your behalf using a paper form or electronically. Please request Moving Protection if both your personal information and your online banking credentials or other information that can be used for strong identification have been stolen. You will always receive a confirmation when Moving Protection has been activated. A notification of change of address cannot take effect until Moving Protection has been cancelled.

Light Moving Protection prevents anyone from submitting a notification of change of address on your behalf using a paper form. When Light Moving Protection is active, you can only submit a notification of change of address electronically in the OmaPosti service or after strong identification on the muuttoilmoitus.fi website. Notifications of change of address submitted using a paper form will not be accepted.

Moving Protection will not affect the delivery address of parcels, and you can cancel it in OmaPosti or when logged in to the Posti website.

Have your personal information and strong identification information been stolen?

With Moving Protection, you can completely prevent anyone from changing your address: your address cannot be changed in the muuttoilmoitus.fi service, in OmaPosti or by using a paper form. Mail delivery interruption also cannot be ordered as long as the protection is active. You should request Moving Protection if both your personal information and your online banking credentials or other information that can be used for strong identification (mobile certificate, ID card or single-use ID granted by Posti) have been stolen.

Moving Protection does not affect the delivery address for parcels.

You can request or cancel Moving Protection on the Posti website or by mail. A notification of change of address cannot take effect until Moving Protection has been cancelled and you have been contacted.

Select “I want to activate Posti Moving Protection” and enter your phone number. You will receive a personal confirmation when Moving Protection has been activated. Every person over the age of 15 must request Moving Protection themselves.

If you request Moving Protection for a child under the age of 15, you must write the child’s name, the names of the child’s parents or guardians and everyone’s phone numbers in the field for additional information. In addition, we will need a document that proves that you are the child’s parent or guardian or the signatures of both of the child’s parents or guardians. How to cancel Moving Protection

You can cancel Moving Protection by logging in to the Posti website and sending a request using the feedback form on the Your Information page. You can also cancel Moving Protection by sending a freeform letter to the same address as the request for Moving Protection. If you cancel your Moving Protection, we will always call you, so please make sure that your contact details are correct.
