Addressed delivery, in other words Customer Direct delivered with a name and address, enables personal marketing communications to the right people. You can efficiently reach your existing and new customers, speak to them on a personal level and gain the best possible attention value for your message.

Customer Direct can be precisely targeted to consumers or businesses. We have access to extensive data sources, such as the Population Information System and the Vehicular and Driver Data Register, enabling you to pick out your target group based on a wide range of information. We recommend making the main delivery of the campaign even more effective with a teaser, or an advance or after delivery message.

Customer Direct - basic information

Customer Direct items are delivered to the recipients within 5 working days of posting. No delivery on Tuesdays. Possibility to buy the Fixed day delivery at 02 speed as an additional service for the batch until 31.12.2019.

As from 1.1.2020 Customer Direct items are delivered to the recipients during 2-4 working days of posting. No delivery on Tuesdays.

Sending

  • The items must be dropped off at a sorting center or terminal by 5 p.m. Customer Direct Fixed day delivery drop-off places as of July 1, 2019 are sorting centers in Helsinki, Tampere, Kuopio and Oulu. Alternatively, Posti can pick up the items (pickup service subject to a charge). Items must not be dropped off in a mailbox.

  • As from 1.1.2020 items must be dropped off at Helsinki, Tampere, Kuopio or Oulu sorting centers. It is possible to drop off items at terminals by using Terminal shuttle service. + 1 day to service level.

Receiving

  • Delivered with basic delivery, post office box delivery, delivery service (subject to a charge) or to Poste restante.

When using contract-based invoicing that is based on a mailing list, Customer Direct items must be furnished with Posti Ltd.'s payment indication.

The postage fee is determined on the basis of the price list unless otherwise agreed. The price includes the carbon neutralization of the emissions caused by the delivery.

Product features that affect the price include the batch size, the weight of an individual item, processability and any additional services used. The postage fee depends on the product features selected by the customer and on any additional services chosen for the item (such as Information Service).

The pricing structure is staggered item pricing according to batch size and weight class.

The payment method is contract-based invoicing in which information about a mailing batch is provided on an electronic or paper (subject to a charge) mailing list.

Delivery, contract and transportation terms

Customer Direct items that cannot be delivered to the recipient will be treated as undeliverable. They are not subject to the address clarification required for personal items pursuant to the Act on Postal Services. Posti will dispose of the item, unless otherwise agreed (Information Service).

Confidential/personal messages must be sent as Priority or Economy letters with address clarification.

Machine-sortable

  • Items must be packed in boxes with the address information facing the same direction

  • Boxes must be marked according to 19 direction, as indicated in the Guide for Batch-Sorted Items (e.g. “03-14 HELSINKI POK”)

  • Boxes are unitized in transport units according to the instructions of the Guide for Batch-Sorted Items; items with delivery speed 03 (02)

  • Boxes are unitized in rolltainers or a pallet. If the Sorting Service is used for the batch, the batch can also be unitized in dollies, i.e. transport platforms.

Manual sorting

  • Items are bundled, except for batches received through the Sorting Service, for which bundles that can be opened are packed in boxes

  • Bundle markings according to the Guide for Batch-Sorted Items

  • Bundles are unitized in transport units according to the Guide for Batch-Sorted Items; items with delivery speed 03 (02) It is recommended that bundles to be opened be unitized separately.

  • Bundles are unitized in rolltainers, a publication cage or pallet

Additional handling is added to Customer Direct in the cases mentioned below:

  • when the dimensions or form of the item differ from the product features determined for the product

  • if the item has not been preprocessed according to Posti's instructions (Guides for Batch-Sorted and Machine-Sortable Items)

  • Until 31.5.2019 Additional Handling is also added if the thickness of a Manually Sortable item is more than 20 mm

  • Additional Handling is added if manually sortable items are mailed in boxes or machine-sortable items as bundled

You can add the Information Service and the desired service level to Customer Direct depending on how items are to be handled. If the Information Service has been attached to Customer Direct, undeliverable items will be handled at an Address clarification point according to the marked service level.
