How do I return an item to another company?

You can return items either as parcels or letters to companies who are using the Customer Return service. When the service is in use, you can leave the item in the nearest mailbox or Posti outlet to be delivered back to the retailer at their cost.

Customer Return as a letter

If the returnable item weighs less than 2 kg and is less then 3 cm thick, you can leave the return in a mailbox marked:

  • ‘CUSTOMER RETURN' or ‘RETURN'.
  • Address of the recipient company.
  • The addressee's contract number if you know it.

When you wish to get a receipt for your return, take the item to a postal outlet. If your company is using Posti's pickup service, you can leave your letter return to be picked up with the regular pickup service.

If your return item is larger than 3 cm, send the customer return as a parcel.

 

Customer return as a parcel

1. How to return a parcel at Posti outlet?

You can return an item through a Posti outlet regardless of its reception mode. You must write the following on top of the return letter or parcel:

  • Address of the recipient company.
  • ‘CUSTOMER RETURN' OR ‘RETURN'.

At a Posti outlet, you can tell the company to which you want to return the parcel and the parcel label will be printed accordingly. Alternatively, you could fill in the ‘Asiakaspalautus 14' address label. You need the name of the recipient company and preferably also the contract number of the recipient company to fill in the address label.

When returning the parcel, you will get a receipt of the item to be delivered.

2. How do I return a parcel through Posti's pickup service?

You can only leave a customer return with the pickup service if the sending company has sent you a ready parcel address label for the return together with the item. In other cases, you have to take the parcel to a Posti outlet for returning it.

3. How do I return a parcel through Posti's Parcel Point?

You can return your item through Posti Parcel Point if it was initially picked up from a Parcel Point and the sending company has a valid contract on customer returns. You must write the following on top of the return letter or parcel:

  • Address of the recipient company.
  • ‘CUSTOMER RETURN' OR ‘RETURN'.

You can return a parcel you picked up at a Parcel Point within 14 days of the pickup. Alternatively, you can return the item at a Posti outlet. If the parcel return period has expired and you wish to return the parcel, contact the company where you ordered the parcel.
