Hornblower is not the ordinary, serious sort of horn-blower, he’s quite a wag. To be honest, he’s fond of his food and that’s why his trousers always seem not quite to fit. Hornblower always has something sweet wrapped up in his vest pocket. As the post office reindeer pull loads of letters and parcels, Hornblower sits with his trumpet on top of the pile in front and blows warnings to passers-by. Hornblower is the trusted master of ceremonies at all the parties at Santa Claus’ Main Post Office. He composed the post office elves’ march and he also conducts the small post office elves’ brass band. Sleepiness in the mornings is Hornblower’s problem. Although he has several alarm clocks, he just can’t seem to get up in time. Sometime he even comes to work with his yellow post office jacket on the wrong way round.
