"Stories" exhibition
Our Stories exhibition contains a wealth of information on the history of postal activities in Finland. With the help of informative texts, items, historical photographs, fun games, and diverse video and multimedia programs, the exhibition provides intriguing insights into history. The exhibition also displays Finnish stamps, sheds light on stamp manufacturing, and introduces stamp collecting as a hobby.
Visitors get to know postal history in the form of various colorful stories [and anecdotes]. Crossing the most perilous postal route in Europe – the Sea of Åland – becomes an almost palpable experience. Visitors can also test their own aptitude for delivering mail by having a go at the postal delivery game. Joining Ahto-Kustaa – the talking pony express horse – on its journeys gives you a chance to experience postal delivery in the 1700s. For a younger generation of visitors, we have reworked the historical yarn-spinning into the form of rap lyrics.
