Collections and research
The Post Museum's collections record the history of postal activity in Finland and contain material related to the development of Itella Corporation. The collections comprise items from stamps to railway cars. All of the pieces cannot be showcased as they are in the gallery spaces, meaning that some larger items and documents recounting past activities are preserved in photographs, videos, and interviews, for example. Archived material also provides insights into the various regulations and provisions that have governed postal activities throughout the years.
Researchers and customers alike are welcome to browse the museum's collections. We recommend making an appointment in advance with the custodian of each collection. The exception is the museum's library, which has regular opening hours.
