EMS

Express Mail Service, EMS, is a cost-effective, scheduled transport service to more than 180 countries. EMS items are shipped abroad separate from other mail, using the fastest modes of transport available.

The service includes insurance against loss or damage for up to EUR 1680.

Indications and Codes

Address labels with the EMS symbol are available at all postal outlets.

EMS DocPack:

  • The green Customs label (CN 22) must be used for mailings with a destination outside the EU and also in the special regions outside the EU excise and value-added tax area.

EMS Goods:

  • No Customs declaration required for EU countries.
  • For goods delivered outside the EU, you need to attach documentation required for Customs clearance. If the destination country requires more than one Customs declaration, you must complete the required number of declarations (CN 23).
  • A commercial invoice or pro forma invoice is required for goods sent for commercial purposes.
Sending

EMS items can be mailed at all postal outlets. By agreement, we can also collect items from the sender.

Special packages included in the price of the service:

  • DocPack cardboard envelope for documents (B4) weighing up to 500g.
  • SealPack mailing bag (B3) for goods and documents.
  • MaxiPack cardboard box for light goods (internal dimensions: 40cm x 25cm x 6cm).

Packaging is available from postal outlets.
Track & Trace

You can track items using the item code included on the address label.
Receiving

Items are delivered to the addressee’s street address.
Pricing

Pricing depends on the destination country, weight or volumetric weight (1m3 = 250kg) and any additional services used.

The contents may not include substances and articles prohibited by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) or the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Please check the Country Information for the destination country’s prohibitions and restrictions.
