Temporary change of address
By making a temporary change of address, you will receive your mail at the location of your choice for a period of time of your choice. By making a temporary change of address, you can ensure that you will receive all your important mail and avoid your mailbox at home from overflowing. This way, you will be able to read all the magazines you subscribe during your holiday and your overflowing mailbox will not attract unnecessary attention while you are away.
Service description
If you like to receive your mail at an address that is not your permanent address for a certain period of time, you can place a temporary change of address notification. The service is subject to a charge. All mail addressed to your old address will be delivered to your new address, such as your holiday home, for a specific period of time.
Only 1st and 2nd class letters and postcards will be forwarded outside of Finland. Other shipments will be returned to the sender or processed as undeliverable
When the period of time specified ends, your mail will be automatically sent to your regular address without any separate announcement. If you want newspapers to be delivered to a temporary address, you must contact the customer service of the newspaper.
You can order the service online, by phone, or using a form that you can pick up at a Posti service outlet and mail to us. A temporary change of address ordered online or by phone will enter into force two working days after the order was placed, and a temporary change of address ordered using the form will enter into force at the latest four working days after the order was placed.
You should announce your temporary change of address at the latest one week before you want the mail to be forwarded to the new address.
Ordering the service
The most affordable way to place a temporary address change notification is placing an order online. You can place a service order in the Address Maintenance Service, in which case you will have to identify yourself when logging in. You can log into to the service using your online bank ID, a Posti user ID or a citizen ID, such as an identity card with a chip. You will receive a service order confirmation.

You can also order the service using a form available at Posti stores and service outlets. You can return the form using the return envelope provided.
You can order a temporary change of address over the phone by calling 0200 71000 (local call charge/mobile charge).
If you order the service using the form or by phone, you will receive an order confirmation with the invoice.
