Change of address
Change of address refers to a notification where a mail recipient informs Posti that the address is about to expire and communicates the new address. Change of address is free of charge.
Based on the change of address, Posti will redirect letter deliveries and postal parcels of up to 10 kg each (general service package) to the new address, unless the sender has prohibited forwarding mail.
Online is the most convenient way of carrying out a change of address. You can log into the service using your online bank ID, a Posti user ID or an identity card with a chip.
You can also order the service using a printed form and the accompanying return envelope. Forms are available at postal outlets.
You may also call 0200 71000 (local/mobile charges apply) and for a change of address.
Moving abroad
When you move abroad, Posti will forward first and second class letters and postcards to your address aboard. Other shipments will be returned to the sender or processed as undeliverable. A moving abroad notification can be submitted on the Internet, or with a change of address notification form available at your nearest postal outlet.
Redirection service
The delivery speed of forwarding mail based on a change of address has not been determined. If you want to ensure that all your mail is delivered at normal speed and that your newspapers/magazines and bulk letters are redirected to your new address in Finland, you may purchase a paid forwarding mail service for 12 months. As a result, you will have plenty of time to inform friends and others of your new address.
Ordering the service
In a permanent change of address, the mail recipient is provided with a confirmation accompanied by an offer for a forwading mail service for 12 months.
You may also order the service afterwards in the Services Ordered section in the online service. On the screen, select the forwarding mail service which you would like to extend.
Prices
The price of the forwarding mail service is subject to the notification method of the original change of address. All services are more inexpensive when ordered online.
Change of address card
Posti shops and postal agency shops have cards available for you to notify a new address and other contact information to your family and friends. Postage has been paid for Finland.
You may also conveniently send your new contact information to the intended recipients through the contact information service at www.posti.fi/yhteystietoni . Just write the greeting you like and add your friends' e-mail addresses. You can also send the information in the vCard format or as a calling card image.
